THREE local artists performing on our intimate stage "The Waiting Room", followed by a chance for you to join the stage with our one-hour Open Mic.
Sunset Sessions connects our local musicians with the community in a safe, warm-hearted and encouraging space.
Scheduled monthly on a Sunday afternoon, this one shares some love especially for our hospo and events industry workers who often miss out on gigs during their busiest work times.
This is the opportunity to see and interact with Brisbane's local creatives, hear their stories and music; and to start the new week in the best way by spending a Sunday sunset soaking up music, tea and good vibes.

Drumming Circle
Drums provided and no experience necessary!
This guided drumming circle is perfect for beginners and those curious to try out a Djembe for the first time or expand your drumming skills.
Drums provided and guided instruction on drumming your first beat, collaborating as a group and confidently drumming as a circle.
All ages welcome.
Taking place once a month on Saturday afternoons from 3pm - 4pm,

POETRY OPEN MIC
Gather with our community of writers, readers and appreciators to share a two hour open mic for readings of poetry, short stories, local book excerpts and musings.
Original and well-known works welcome. This is a one-off event at this stage to trial run interest in the community, with the hope to potentially continue as a recurring event in the future!
If you think you may have interest in this event or community, THIS is the night to attend so we can assess if it will be practical to pursue holding this event and building this community.
We are a group of passionate artists, writers, poets, readers and appreciators who are eager to see growth in this community and sharing in a safe space.
Rat Planet Studios is an alcohol-free venue and a safe, inclusive third space.
Non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase and BYO snacks/ delivery food is welcome.
We look forward to seeing like-minds at this gathering and hope to build an great ongoing space for sharing words.

ACTON WICKENS Album Launch
The official debut album launch of Acton Wickens: Recall, Receive, Release.
Supported with performances from local singer-songwriters Phoebe Purtill and Olivia Nichols, Acton Wickens is launching his official debut album with live performances from the album as well as other special songs.
Brand new merch and physical albums for sale, plus a pop-up night cafe with a range of colourful beverages.

DJEMBE SKINNING WORKSHOP
This one-off special event provides the opportunity to bring your very own instrument to life through our guided workshop. Inclusive of all materials, we supply everything you need to create and take home your very own Djembe!
With wooden shells, goat skins, rope and gloves provided; our experts will guide and assist you through the process of skinning and tuning your own drum, plus a bonus lesson in drumming some easy beats!
This five-hour workshop also includes lunch and refreshments provided, catering to gluten-free & vegan diets.
Taking place in the inspiring upstairs inner-city sanctuary of Rat Planet Studios, you are in expert hands with our guides Larney and Luna, who ensure you will be surrounded by encouragement, assistance, great music and good vibes during this meditative and rewarding experience.
